I wrote this in my first flat on an acoustic guitar in 2006. I'd just fell in love with Drop D tuning and had loads of ideas like this.

I wanted it to pack a punch in the loud sections, like several loud Finch songs.

If the band had used the song, I would have hoped for a couple of ideas to develop it a little, but it never made it that far.

I recall writing the chorus, thinking of how I was about to break a girls heart for the first time and how odd it was to be on that side of the game.
